PES 410 Competition Oriented Strategies and Preparations

Specific strategies and tactics that prepare individuals or teams for maximizing their performance in athletic competition. This course may be offered in an online format. Prerequisites: PES 255.

PES 445 Athletic Season Planning and Evaluation

Prepares coaches to plan in- and out-of-season activities, and provides them with the tools they need to evaluate program strengths and weaknesses. This course may be offered in an online format. Pre/Co- requisite: PES 410.

PES 470 Athletic Coaching Internship

A practical experience in coaching athletes in a competitive setting at any level of competition under the supervision of a superior. Prerequisite: PES 445.

PES 480 Integration of Sport Management Theory & Practice

A capstone experience for sport management majors, including fundraising, event management, strategic planning, game day operations, leadership, problem solving, sales, and communication. Prerequisites: PES 119, PES 180, and PES 293, all with grade of B- or better; PES 218QR, PES 280, PES 360, and PES 380 all with a grade of C or better; minimum 86 credit hours (senior status).

PES 485 Theoretical Foundations of Strength and Conditioning

Theory and application of physiological, biomechanical, psychological components of physical performance needed to analyze, develop and implement strength and conditioning programs. NSCA standards and guidelines. Prerequisites: HSC 211 or HSC 214; HSC 302.

PES 499 Internship in Sport Management

Provides practical experience in a select sport-related organization. Students enroll in 1 to 12 credits. A minimum of 400 clock hours is required (9 credit hours to meet course requirements). Prerequisites: PES 318, PES 360, PES 380 all with a C or better; minimum 86 credits; permission of the sport management internship coordinator. Course requires affiliation agreement (otherwise known as the Site Assignment)
