EGR 578 Advanced Mechanics of Materials

Stress/strain in three dimensions, constitutive laws, failure theories. Advanced beam theories, curved beams, shear deformation, beams on elastic foundations, plates and shells, energy methods. Prerequisites: EGR 255, 355; MTH 233; permission of E&T advisor; cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher; or graduate student in Engineering.
