Structured Language and Literacy Intervention, Graduate Certificate
This 18-credit hour certificate is designed for degree-seeking students of any major and non-degree-seeking students who desire to offer high- quality literacy services using evidence-based instruction and interventions to students with reading disabilities, including dyslexia.

Admission Requirements, Retention & Termination Standards
- Admission: Bachelor's degree and 3.0 Cumulative GPA.
- Retention: Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA with no grade less than a B in the certificate classes.
- Termination: Students who do not earn at least a B in each course in the certificate program will be terminated.

Accelerated Admissions to the Structured Language and Literacy Graduate Certificate
- Accelerated Admission: Student must be currently enrolled as a CMU undergraduate student with junior or senior status. Student must have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0.
- Retention: Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA with no grade less than a B in the certificate classes.
- Termination: Students who do not earn at least a B in each course in the certificate program will be terminated.
Students granted accelerated admissions can take up to 50% of the Structured Language and Literacy Intervention Certificate Courses while enrolled as an undergraduate student and count them toward both their undergraduate degree and the Structured Language and Literacy Intervention Certificate. Courses eligible for undergraduate students to take include CSD 512, EDU 531, EDU 533, EDU 537, and EDU 540.
Students should enroll in these courses at the undergraduate level but will need to inform the instructor that they are taking them as part of an accelerated program and will need to fulfill the academic requirements for graduate students. No more than three of the listed courses should be taken while enrolled as an undergraduate student, and students must not take more than 15 credit hours (undergraduate and graduate credits combined) in a semester.
Completed courses will be added to the graduate transcript once the student satisfactorily completes their undergraduate degree. All credits taken prior to the awarding of the undergraduate degree, regardless of course level and the degree to which they are being applied, will be charged at the undergraduate tuition rate.
