Major Map

Admission Requirements, Retention & Termination Standards

Students will be able to sign an intent to major in Cinema Arts during their freshmen year. To sign the major, students must produce a portfolio of their video work after taking MCA 440, which should occur during their sophomore year. Students will be given the parameters of the portfolio during MCA 440 and this course will prepare them to produce the portfolio. Portfolios will be assessed and critiqued by program faculty. Students who do not pass this assessment may produce a second attempt. If students do not pass the second attempt, students will not be accepted to the program. These students will be able to sign a Media Arts or Art major or switch to a new major.
