Neithercut Woodland

Neithercut Woodland is a 252-acre Central Michigan University property located 30 miles north of campus and about 4.5 miles northwest of Farwell on Michigan state highway 115 (M-115). This natural woodland was a gift to CMU by William A. Neithercut, class of 1909. The Woodland contains three hiking trails. The forested property consists of upland and lowland habitats, wetlands, a stream (Elm Creek), and can used for academic, research, and/or other community and educational functions. The McNeel Nature Center building located on site is constructed of cedar logs, and its 1,900 square feet of floor space provides a central meeting room, kitchenette, side meeting room, and restrooms. Up to 50 people can be accommodated in the center. Neithercut Woodland is available for students and the public on a year-round basis.
