Police Department Overview and Information
The Central Michigan University Police Department works in partnership with the entire university community to maintain a safe, secure, and orderly living and learning environment. We work very hard to keep our campus safe, while also continuing our focus on service. Our department is professionally staffed 24-hours a day by certified police officers, dispatchers, and support staff.

University Policy for Use of Motor Vehicles
Students must register any motor vehicle which they park on the university campus with the CMU Police/Parking Services Department. Parking permits must be displayed at all times.
Any student who has a vehicle on campus is expected to become familiar with, and abide by, university traffic and parking regulations. Regulations and designation of parking areas for specific permits are published with the campus map, available at the CMU Police/Parking Services Department or online. Bicycles are also registered free of charge at the CMU Police/Parking Services Department. Full information can be found online at the Parking Services website.
