Broadcast and Cinematic Arts Major, B.A.; B.A.A.; B.S.

B.A. degree, B.S. degree, or B.A.A. degree 

Admission Requirements, Retention & Termination Standards

  1. In order to declare a BCA major or minor, a student must meet with an assigned BCA advisor.
  2. Students pursuing BCA majors and minors are required to earn a minimum grade of C in each BCA core (required) curriculum course both before and after the declaring of the major or minor.

Additional Notes for the BCA Major on the BA, BAA, or BS degree:

The minimum requirement for a major is 41 hours. All BCA majors and minors must earn a minimum grade of C in each course required in the curriculum. At least 18 hours of coursework in the major must be taken at CMU. Only 3 hours of intern credit may count toward a major and toward graduation. Courses taken for credit/no credit do not count toward the major except for BCA 329. Only 3 hours of BCA 329 can count toward this major. A list of various career course sequences is available in the School office.

BCA course work selected by the student in conjunction with a BCA academic advisor. Nine (9) of these hours must be at the 400 or 500 level. BCA 490 and BCA 529 do not fulfill this 400-500 requirement.
