II. The Competencies
General Education Competencies are essential skills that students develop during their course of study at Central Michigan University. Graduates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in Writing, Oral English, and Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning. The requirements for each competency were designed to help students master the skills needed to become constructive, engaged, and thoughtful individuals. See Additional Guidelines at the end of this section. Students with transfer credit should pay particular attention to the material presented in Section IV: General Education Program Requirements for Students with Transfer Credit.
