Admission Requirements, Retention & Termination Standards
- EDU 107 must be completed with a B or higher.
- Students must adhere to the Teacher Candidate Dispositions set by the Educator Preparation Program.
- A minimum cumulative average of a 2.8 is required for the student teaching clinical experience.
- A minimum cumulative average of a 2.8 in the Teaching English Language Arts Grades 5-12 major is required for the pre-student teaching clinical experience in ENG 560.
- A C+ or higher must be earned in the following courses: ENG 211WI, 311, 319, 372, 560.
- Courses taken for credit toward a Teaching English Language Arts Grades 5-12 major may not be taken Credit/No Credit.
- Up to three courses may be transferred for course credit on the Teaching English Language Arts Grades 5-12 major.
- All required coursework for the Teaching English Language Arts Grades 5-12 major must be completed prior to student teaching,
- Any repeated coursework for the Teaching English Language Arts Grades 5-12 major must be completed at CMU.
- Independent study in English is restricted to six (6) hours for the Teaching English Language Arts Grades 5-12 major.
