Pre-Law
Pre-Law Program, Undergraduate
The CMU Pre-Law Center provides pre-law advising and resources for students interested in pursuing law school or legal careers, including events, workshops, help with LSAT and application prep, and more. Pre-Law is not a specific major or minor. Instead, it is a comprehensive advising and support program designed to help students prepare for the legal profession. There is no required major for admission to law school. Students are encouraged to select a major that aligns with their interests while building core skills that law schools value, including critical thinking, analytical reasoning, writing, research, and communication. Through our academic programs, experiential learning, law-based internships, and immersion in a robust pre-law community, students can build strong and competitive law school applications.
